Import MileIQ Data via CSV (Step-by-Step)

Published 2026-05-04

You can export your full MileIQ trip history as a CSV file and import it into TruMile in two minutes. Trip dates, routes, distances, and classifications are all preserved.

Export from MileIQ

  1. Open MileIQ on your iPhone.
  2. Tap "Drives" at the bottom.
  3. Tap the menu icon (top right) and select "Export."
  4. Choose date range: "All time" preserves your complete history.
  5. Tap Send. MileIQ emails the CSV to your account email.
  6. Open the email on your iPhone and download the attachment.

What is in the CSV

Each row is one trip with columns for start date/time, end date/time, start address, end address, total miles, classification (business/personal), and any notes you added. Standard CSV format that any modern app can parse.

Import into TruMile

  1. Open TruMile.
  2. Go to Settings > Import.
  3. Tap "Import from MileIQ."
  4. Select the CSV from your downloads or share it from the Mail app.
  5. TruMile detects the MileIQ format and imports every row.
  6. Review imported trips on the Trips screen and confirm before deleting MileIQ.

What is preserved

  • Every trip with start and end timestamps
  • Start and end addresses (geocoded by TruMile from the CSV addresses)
  • Total miles per trip
  • Business vs personal classification
  • Notes you had added to specific trips

What is NOT preserved

MileIQ does not export the full GPS route polyline (only the start and end points), so the imported trips show straight-line route segments rather than the actual path you drove. The miles, dates, and classifications are correct; just the visual map view is simplified for imported trips.

Edge cases

  • Trips before MileIQ added export support may not appear in the CSV.
  • If MileIQ truncated long routes (rare), the imported distance reflects the MileIQ-reported number, not the actual driven distance.
  • Multi-stop trips are imported as separate rows in MileIQ's CSV format and appear as separate trips in TruMile.

After the import

Run both apps in parallel for 3-5 days to verify TruMile is catching new trips before canceling MileIQ. Full migration guide here.
